Educating students on the past, present, and future of technology, while opening eyes, minds and hearts through hands on projects and activities.
Students explore sustainable energy solutions and investigate the impact of energy on our lives and the world. Students design and model alternative energy sources and evaluate options for reducing energy consumption. The recent innovations of alternative energy systems provide inexhaustible energy that can be used to supplement the energy obtained from fossil fuel. These alternatives include wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower, and biomass. Most of these systems generate power with virtually zero carbon emissions. Students study the global energy problem and discuss innovative solutions to promote energy security. Students actively participate in energy conservation through turning off the lights when they leave a room, reducing water usage and adjusting the thermostat to a more reasonable temperature.
